Canepa pentru fibra "Cannabis Sativa" este o planta folosita din vechi timpuri pentru imbracaminte si alte articole gospodaresti. Dovezile arheologice o atesta din anii 7000 - 8000 I. Hr.
Pe teritoriul Romaniei, cultura canepii a fost inlesnita de sciti incepand cu secolul VII I. Hr. Herodot mentioneaza indeletnicirea femeilor dace in realizara de imrcaminte si decoratiuni in gospodarie. Dacii au folosit canepa si la vindecarea ranilor si arsurilor cu cataplasma din inflorescenta.
Traditia cultivarii si prelucrarii canepii in sistem gospodaresc s-a mentinut in unele zone pana in zilele noastre (pozele 1-8).
Pana in anul 1989 Romania ocupa primil loc in Europa
cultivand 56-70% din productia totala si locul 4 in lume
(45.000 ha) pentru ca sa ajunga in 1994 la numai 800 ha.
Necesitatea relansarii acestui domeniu decurge din
avantajele culturii si insusirile deosebite ale fibrei.

The hemp for fiber "Cannabis Sativa" is a plant used from the oldest times for clothes and other house wares. The archeological proofs attests it from the years 7000 - 8000 b. Chr.
In Romania the plant was brought by the scits at the beginning of the VII century B. Chr.
Herodot mentions that the dacic women used the hemp to produce clothes and house decorations.
The dacs used the plant also to heal the burns and wounds.
The tradition of growing hemp still is in some areas of the country in our days.
Until the year 1989 Romania was the first producer in Europe, cultivating 56 - 70% from the
entire European production and the 4'th in the world with 45.000 ha reaching in 1994 only 800 ha.
It is obvious to bring again to live this domain because of the very special advantages of the plant.
